lady lions win first play off game
The very first Play off game took place last Tuesday. As expected, the lady lions were victorious. Ashley Gustafson led the way with a total of 20 points. dang. Jenna McCray was the second leading scorer with a total of 8 points. Alexis Erickson and Ashlen Pinault were close behind with 6 points each. They will play another play off game on Thursday to determine who goes to the championships.
Varsity girls lose to heights
The Varsity girls basketball team lost to Heights on Thursday. Although it was a close game, the Lady Lions did not prevail. Ashley Gustafson was the leading scorer with a total of 9 points. Behind her was Alyssa Kerscher with 8 points. Cassidy Kohlenberger was not too far behind with 6 points. Hopefully, when the Lady Lions play them in the championship game, the outcome will be a different story.

Last Wednesday, The Lady Lion Varsity team beat Valley 39-14. The team was led by Alyssa Kerscher with 15 points. Alyssa had her best game of the season. Ashley Gustafson also contributed 12 points. This now gives the Varsity team 5-1 record in league. The Lady Lions will have a tough matchup against the #1 overall seed in league Heights this week.

Lady Lions Battle against Bulldogs
Last Thursday, our Lady Lion Varsity team beat San Gabriel 31-16. This was the second straight road victory for the Lady Lions. Turning in yet another clutch performance was Ashley Gustafson with 11 points. In addition to the performance of Gustafson, Cassidy Kohlenberger put up a solid 10 points helping lead the team to another victory. Although the Varsity team came out victorious, the JV team was not as successful. They lost in a close game with a final score of 30-27. The top scorers were Aubree MacDonald with 8 points, Sadie Pool with 7 points, Stephani Shatynski with 6 points, and Lucy Allee, Hannah Jeffers, Madline Harkey with 2 points. With these results, the Varsity team is now 4-1 in league play and the JV team is now 3-2 in league play.

Last Tuesday, The Varsity team beat Whitter 46-17. The team was led by Ashley Gustafson with a season high 20 points. Ashlen Pinault also had a memorable performance scoring 16 points. With this win the Varsity team improves their record to 3-1. The JV team also beat Whitter last Tuesday with a score of 39-14. The JV Lions had a balances attack with multiple girls contributing. The top scorers were Aubree MacDonald with 12 points, Alina Agopian with 10 points, and Lucy Allee with 8 points. With this win the JV Lions improve their record to 3-1.
Lady Lions defeat Ontario
Last Tuesday, our Lady Lions Varsity basketball team defeated Ontario, 34-10. The team is now 1-1 in league. Both Ashley Gustafson and Alyssa Kerscher dominated on the court, scoring 12 and 11, respectively. Bridgette Carberry also contributed 4 points. "Overall, the entire team played an amazing game," says Alyssa Kerscher.
The JV girls also won their game versus Ontario. The score was 25-16. The top scorers were Stephani Shatynski with 6 points, and Sarah Kenny and Aubree MacDonald with 4 points. This was a huge win for both teams coming off of a loss to Pasadena. This win was a huge momentum shift for the Lady Lions as they continue on in their season against West Covina.

lADY lIONS Teams Come up Short Against Pasadena
Last Thursday and Friday, our Lady Lions battled it out against the Pasadena Cougars. Ashley Gustafson led the charge for the Varsity team scoring 10 points. Unfortunately that was not enough as the Varsity team came up short 21-17. The JV team also came up short with a score of 21-17. The JV Lady Lions showed a balanced attack with many of the girls on the team scoring baskets. Pasadena was a tough challenge and we hope to get another chance at them in the playoffs.
Lady Lions Get Solid Win against Rio Hondo
On Tuesday, the Lady Lions played Rio Hondo and came out victorious. At the end of the first quarter, the girls varsity basketball team started slow with a score of 4-3. It wasn't until second quarter that things started to pick up. Ashley Gustafson was the main scorer and led the way with a total of 13 points. Alyssa Kerscher also chipped in with 10 points. With a final score of 37-14, the Lady Lions dominated against Rio Hondo. With this win they improve their record to 3-1 heading into league play versus Pasadena Christian.

Last Tuesday, the varsity girls basketball team won their first game against Heritage Oak. Ashley Gustafson led the way with 8 points. Alyssa Kerscher had a huge game scoring 7 points including a momentum changing 3 pointer at the end of the 1st half. Cassidy Kohlenberger was solid from the free throw line, making a total of 5/6 free throws. The final score was 28-14. The Lady Lions will get a chance of redemption vs. St. Francis on Thursday.

The Lady Lions had their first game against St. Francis. St. Francis' team gave our girls a tough game. The Lady Lions ended up losing their first game of the season 21-14. The two high scorers for the Lions were Ashley Gustafson and Alexis Erickson with four points each. That simply wasn't enough for the Varsity girls basketball team to prevail. This week the Lady Lions will take on Heritage Oak on Tuesday and they will have a another chance against St. Francis on Thursday.
